Illustrator and Wooden Folk Artist, Ulana Zahajkewycz was friends with Leon Martin who was incidentally the editor of the Boris Gavrilovic’s documentary, My Life as an Underdog. In Ulana’s own words “I became so struck by the uniqueness and artistry of Suzanne Muldowney that I decided to create this piece as a homage to her.”

“In 2006, I had the pleasure of meeting Suzanne in LA when she appeared as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live. What a treat!!” You can see more of Ulana’s lovely artwork on Instagram @Ulanaland or visit https://www.ulanaland.com/

As a side note: I owe Suzanne a big thank you! A friend suggested that I adopt a cat that was being relinquished. I wasn’t really a cat person, but my friend insisted that I should at least meet this particular cat. “She is a munchkin and a real sweetheart,” she said. I asked my friend, “Ok, what’s the name of this cat?” She said, “Her name is Underdog.” That was 14 years ago. She is the love of my life.
